I recently walked through a store and suddenly my eyes fell on all LCD HDTVs that were drawn on the display. I had to walk up and take a closer look and was amazed at what I saw. The quality of LCD TV is just amazing now with the latest advances in technology lead to larger screens and higher resolutions. There was a time in which an LCD television with all the functionality that was considered a luxury, but no more. So, what choices are available and at what price?

The dimensions are smaller and thinner, but the electronics that go into them more and more complex. With so many manufacturers, shapes and sizes, can be daunting to choose in order to get better. Of course, if you're faced with a multitude of screens in a store, it can be difficult. You want to make sure that all the best valuefor your hard earned money.
Point number one is to control the size. The screen size is the diagonal from one corner to the opposite corner at the top in inches below. The size chosen should be based first on the distance from the TV that you have chosen to look at. The budget also determine this. The most popular models are around the 46-inch mark, as these are ideal if you are anything from 4 to 12 meters away from the screen. Most LCD HDTVs can be wallmounted but it is worth checking this. Being able to mount the TV on the wall is a great way to save space although many people like to use the stand or cabinet to stow Dvds.
You'll want to be buying a 120Hz and 1080p LCD HDTV. These are the refresh rate and the resolution respectively. The higher refresh rate allows you to watch fast moving action with the highest possible quality pictures. Regarding sound, most LCD TVs have excellent audio reproduction and there is little to choose between them. Each manufacturer also includes a range of additional features and you will have to decide which of these you think are useful. For example the enhanced game playing features would suit many people, the ability to watch and transfer pictures and videos from your PC is another feature that some wouldn't be able to be without.
I have found too many models to go into details here but if I am asked to name the best models that are currently available, I would say the following. For smaller 40 inch screens I would rate the Samsung LN40C630 and Samsung LN40C650. At 46 inches there is only one choice, the Samsung LN46C650. Moving up to 52 inches, I would probably go for the Sharp QuadPixel LC-52LE810UN and Sony BRAVIA KDL-52NX800. The top 55 inch LCD would include the Sony KDL-55HX800 and the Samsung UN55C8000. At the high end, (60 to 65 inch), I would certainly recommend the Panasonic TC-P65S2 65-inch and the Sharp Quad Pixel LC-60LE810UN 60-inch.
Whatever model you choose, while quality and the number of features has increased, prices have still come down and now is the best time ever for purchasing a top quality LCD HDTV.
